Biplane reconnaissance aircraft. Designed during 1923- 1924, finished and tested in 1925. Designation P-I (for Perekhodnyj, transitional) was applied because there were three(!) other aircraft already carried the R-II designation.

R-II did not attract attention, because the N.N.Polikarpov R-1 was already in mass production.

Only one R-II was built.
